TORNADO AND WIND PRACTICAL EFFECTS/SPECIAL EFFECTS - I wrote, shot, and directed a short film to showcase tornado and wind practical and special effects.
BEHIND THE SCENES - TORNADO AND WIND PRACTICAL EFFECTS/SPECIAL EFFECTS. 1) Tornado: created by layering multiple shots of soapy water rotating in a jar, at varying stages of rotation and cloudiness. 2) Debris rotating around tornado: created from crushed leaves and dirt rotating in clear water. 3) Blowing leaves: created by blowing crushed leaf bits across white posterboard, then compositing over the scene. 4) Distant woods blowing in wind: effect created with puppet pins in AfterEffects. 5) Overcast lighting: color grading with Premiere.
